System and Software Product Engineer (m/f/d)

As a SYSPE, you will be responsible for the Parking Brake system, serving as the primary technical contact for the customer. You will participate in customer meetings to discuss requirements, define technical milestones, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Your role will involve coordinating activities across software development, functional safety, and system validation to ensure successful delivery.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination
  • For RFQ activities, analyze customer requirements, create deviation matrix from platform requirements, estimate project workload, and present products to customers
  • Coordinate activities (system, software, testing, safety, and interface to actuator development) with respect to standards, and project objectives and milestones.
  • Plan development activities and maintain the project schedule.
  • Represent as the technical interface for the customer.

Project Development Activities
  • Manage OEM specific requirements down to software level.
  • Agree with the customer and the Electronic Stability Control supplier(s) upon a feature implementation plan.
  • Create and maintain a test strategy and a requirements-based test plan (bench + vehicle) with test departments.
  • Prepare and deliver official software according to internal processes
  • Create and maintain internal project documents related to APB function with respect to standards, project objectives and milestones
  • Define software application parameters based on customer requirements, vehicle data, brake calliper tests, system tests, vehicle tests, simulations
  • Participate in vehicle validation tests, create defect and change tickets, summarize overall validation results for each software delivery, and verify coverage requirements

Continuous Improvement
  • Propose improvement ideas regarding product, process
  • Establish best practices, refine processes and specific guidelines

Profile and Qualifications:

Experience
  • Bachelor's/master's degree in Mechatronic Engineering or Embedded Software or similar
  • +5 years of experience with embedded software interfacing with customer in automotive industry

Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities
  • Confidence in engaging with customers professionally and effectively
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • High sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Ability to summarise and present information clearly
  • Natural curiosity and eagerness to learn

Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Embedded Software
  • Strong mechatronics knowledge
  • Knowledge in Jira, Doors/DNG, SVN are an asset
  • V-Cycle abilities
  • Fluent in English
