FieldApplications Engineer (FAE) -

Job Description

The FieldApplications Engineer (FAE) role is an important position responsible for bothpre and post-sales support of MACOM European semiconductor center? MESC. Pre-sales tasks include securing design wins with MACOM products, deliveringtechnical presentations, demonstrating MACOM technology, responding totechnical inquiries and helping to define a winning product pitch. Post-sales tasks include hardware and software design support, lab debug,training, and helping to ensure a smooth ramp to volume production. Thesuccessful individual will have a strong background in semiconductorcommunication devices.

Primary JobFunctions

-Workclosely with MACOM Sales organization.
-Potential visitsto customers when MACOM Sales organization needs technicalassistance.
-Identifynew design and product upselling opportunities.
-Aligncustomer design requirements with MACOM products and technology.
-Provideguidance and input for customer proposals.
-Givetechnology demonstrations with MACOM evaluation boards and reference designs.
-Assistcustomers with architecture, schematic and layout activities during design.
-Develop theproduct validation environment including hardware and software.
-Validatethe product in its end application and writing of validation reports.
-Collaborateclosely with the wider team involved in the product development.
-Creation ofcollaterals such as application notes, product presentations, publications,etc.
-Providecustomer and field support on new and existing products.
-Provideonsite support to quickly isolate and resolve hardware and software problemsduring design bring up and debug.
-Traincustomers and distributor FAEs on the benefits and features of MACOM products.
-Be anadvocate for MACOM products and technology.

RequiredSkills & Experience

-Master'sdegree or PHD in Electronic Engineering
-knowledgein the field of semiconductors and different design (power amplifier PA, lownoise amplifier LNA, CoreChip CC, Mixer, Trans-Impedance Amplifier TIA...)
-Desire tolearn and develop
-Goodcommunications skills
-Good levelof English is required
-Excellentproblem solving and debug skills
-Knowledgeof bench equipment like network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, RF sources,power meters
