The Inria centre at Université Côte d'Azur includes 42 research teams and 9 support services. The centre's staff (about 500 people) is made up of scientists of different nationalities, engineers, technicians and administrative staff. The teams are mainly located on the university campuses of Sophia Antipolis and Nice as well as Montpellier, in close collaboration with research and higher education laboratories and establishments (Université Côte d'Azur, CNRS, INRAE, INSERM ...), but also with the regiona economic players.
With a presence in the fields of computational neuroscience and biology, data science and modeling, software engineering and certification, as well as collaborative robotics, the Inria Centre at Université Côte d'Azur is a major player in terms of scientific excellence through its results and collaborations at both European and international levels.

The position will be funded by the Pl@ntNet consortium.
The position will be dedicated to develop a new feature in the Pl@ntNet app, adapted from thePlantGame.

Assignments :
Following preliminary work on the handling and scaling up of ThePlantGame inference algorithm, the candidate will have to implement the best version in the Pl@ntNet system.
The selection of the inference algorithm version will be based on its benefit in terms of
accuracy but also in terms of ease of integration and maintenance in the Pl@ntNet
platform.
Collaboration :
The recruited person will be in connection with Joseph Salmon and Jean-Christophe Lombardo, and more widely with the core Pl@ntNet team

Principales activités
Main activities (5 maximum) :
- Software developement
- Analyze the requirements of the app.
- Develop a module performing confusion estimation in the current Pl@ntNet plateform
- Write documentation
- Test, change up until validation
- Transfer knowledge and techniques to the core developper team
Compétences
Technical skills and level required :
- Master or PhD.
- experience in datascience
- strong skills in software developement / database / big data
