Purpose of the Role:

This is a key strategic role within the Europe region and its purpose is to support the strong planned growth of digitally written and AI/digitally enhanced business, in line with our 5 year strategy. This role will be crucial to the creation and success of new digital partnerships across the continent together with the rollout of the scalable solutions required to support this distribution. Working with European Senior Leadership team, to drive and influence the agreed strategy, they will collaborate closely with Global functions and will be the lynchpin in ensuring the European business requirement is clearly captured and prioritized.

About the Role:

In concert with the global Digital Strategy Team, you'll strive to ensure European business imperatives are met through Digital channels and initiatives.

Working closely with business stakeholders, including Underwriting leadership, you'll help define and apply long-term strategy for Digital distribution/portfolio solutions and AI/Underwiring modernization products. You'll thrive on collaboration to solve problems, devising solutions for our internal underwriting customers and our strategic broking and coverholder partners. You will sponsor our digital propositions with oversight for discovery, design, launch and ongoing success of digital propositions and integrations to enhance user experience and drive sustainable growth. You'll have excellent knowledge of Re/insurance. Central to this exciting journey, you'll work in partnership with our Business Agility, Technology, Data science, Enterprise Architecture, Change Management and other regional and global functions to articulate business requirements; implementing clean and easy-to-use functionalities and products which enhance user experience.

In addition to overseeing the vision and entire lifecycle of a digital product, from inception to launch, you will also be responsible for digital solutions post launch. Alongside Product Owners you will ensure these are being maintained and available in a Business as Usual state. As part of this you will take responsibility for ongoing improvements and ensuring there is a holistic approach encompassing existing and new capabilities across the business, that they are efficiently and effectively embedded in the wider operating model and continue to be aligned with our business and digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work cross-functionally to guide digital products/channels from conception through launch and beyond, by connecting the technical capability and local business needs.
  • Your work will involve
      • o Collaborating with business leaders to create product vision, strategy and roadmap in alignment with strategic priorities for LII for the region
      • o providing leadership around transition from non digital channels to digital channels or securing new revenue through digital capability.
      • o Developing robust business cases, digital KPIs and measuring ROI on digital projects, evolving approaches as needed to ensure investment in the right tools and resources
      • o Where appropriate, influencing the strategy to ensure business imperatives are met through digital channels; profitability, efficiency, customer satisfaction
      • o Driving new digital initiatives and optimising performance for existing ones
      • o aligning with LII strategy and Europe business plan
      • o Understanding markets, competition, and user requirements in depth, including deep collaboration with distribution partners
  • In conjunction with the CUO's, setting out and implementing the digital strategy to improve CX/EX, increase usability, build brand loyalty, grow market share, develop new revenue streams and increase operational efficiency
  • You will work closely with product owners, developers, designers, project managers, etc. to help design. develop and deliver customer centric market leading underwriting digital products
  • You will promote our digital strategy and proposition to internal and external clients and brokers, exploring new opportunities.
  • You will work collaboratively with your peers in other regions, product areas and functions, sharing knowledge and insights
  • Understanding the different LSM (insurance) product lines to be able to capitalise on opportunities, and make product related decisions

Skills and Experience

  • Industry or functional experience in digital insurance and distribution; across personal lines, commercial/specialty lines, delegated underwriting or similar
  • Strong experience in defining, prioritising and implementing AI and data driven solutions to deliver significant and measurable business value
  • Demonstrated experience managing distribution partners (brokers, agents, affinity partners, etc) especially co-creating and delivering digital distribution
  • Strong digital product management and/or DevOps experience such as creating strategic product roadmaps and working with cross-functional teams
  • Sales Skills: Will be an excellent salesperson, serving as a conduit between the customers and underwriters and as well as possessing the personal gravitas, passion and personality to represent Liberty externally
  • The ability to navigate a complex international matrixed organization
  • Track record of delivering technology enabled business change, especially in the areas of digital distribution, API connectivity and AI enhanced decision making
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully going through all stages of the product lifecycle, from gathering feedback and shaping requirements in collaboration with designers and engineers, to defining acceptance criteria, testing and driving adoption
  • Strong knowledge of AI ethics, regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR) and risk mitigation strategies in AI implementation.
  • Experience operating in and organizing Agile teams
  • Fluent English and one other EU language. Additional EU languages a plus
