As a Software Technical Writer, you will be a key member of the Bloq.it Support team. You will create and maintain software documentation to help us support high-quality smart locker solutions. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with experts across multiple teams to ensure that the documentation is comprehensive and up-to-date.

What will be your responsibilities

• Update and create documentation from scratch, such as Knowledge Base articles and software guides, using a hands-on approach.
• Develop internal release notes to raise awareness of major software updates.
• Support the creation of software training materials.
• Regularly maintain and update the documentation to reflect product enhancements, user feedback, and evolving needs.
• Ensure that the documentation is well-organized, standardised, and easily accessible.
• Identify gaps in documentation and address them appropriately.
• Collaborate with team members and subject-matter experts from various departments, including Support, Product, and Engineering.

What are the requirements to join us in this position

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software technical writing role
• Experience documenting products preferably encompassing software, firmware, and hardware aspects
• Experience working cross-functionally with Support, Product, and Engineering teams
• Based in Portugal
• Fluency in English and Portuguese
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex technical concepts to different audiences
• Excellent attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with knowledge base platforms and/or documentation authoring tools
• Experience with creating images and other visuals to enhance the documentation

Extra Valued Skills

• Experience working in an enterprise or start-up environment.
• Experience with building release notes and/or training materials.
• Familiarity with IoT devices, and/or MQTT protocol, and/or Linux command line.
