Founded in 2019 with the support of the European Union U, SiPearl embodies Europe's dream of mastering the technological heart of its supercomputers: the microprocessor.

SiPearl is building Rhea, the high-performance, low-power European microprocessor dedicated to supercomputing and AI inference.

This new generation of microprocessors will first target EuroHPC Joint Undertaking ecosystem, which is deploying world-class supercomputing infrastructures in Europe for solving major challenges in medical research, artificial intelligence, security, energy management and climate with a reduced carbon footprint.

SiPearl is working in close collaboration with its 30 partners from the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium - leading names from the scientific community, supercomputing centers and industry - which are its stakeholders, future clients and end-users.

SiPearl employs more than 190 people in:
  • France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis),
  • Germany (Duisburg)
  • Spain (Barcelona)
  • and Italy (Bologna)

SiPearl is part of French Tech Next 120 programme 2024 class.

About the role

Under the direction of the Director of Information Systems, the DevOps Engineer works closely with the IT team, support functions, and R&D teams. They implement processes, tools, and methods to streamline operations and meet user needs for software.

They ensure the operation and maintenance of the software.

What a regular day at the job might look like

Activity 1: Continuous Integration and Deployment

- Implement automation tools and pipelines to accelerate operational processes: deployment and operational maintenance.
- Automate application deployment to testing, pre-production, and production environments.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in applications and infrastructure.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between R&D and operations teams to ensure optimal service quality.
- Scalability and extensibility: design solutions that allow infrastructure to evolve in line with changing needs.Activity 2: Application Management
- Deploy new systems or security patches to existing systems.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation for configurations, processes, workflows, and applications to enhance understanding and collaboration.
- Manage the application portfolio for which they are responsible.
- Ensure operational maintenance of the applications they oversee, in collaboration with the IT team and user teams.Activity 3: Security and Incident Management

- Set up monitoring solutions to track application and infrastructure performance and to quickly detect and resolve incidents.
- Integrate security practices early in the development lifecycle and implement security measures to protect applications and data.
- Provide technical support and resolve incidents related to applications and infrastructure.

What will help you succeed in this role:
We are looking for someone having between 5 and 7 years of experience on a similar role.

- Proficiency in English for an international environment.
- Mastery of automation tools (Ansible, ..).
- Mastery of CI/CD tools (GitHub, GitLab, SourceForge...).
- Mastery of monitoring tools (Grafana, ELK, Prometheus...).
- In-depth knowledge of operating systems, networks, and server management.
- Understanding of application and infrastructure security principles.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Bash

- Experience with Linux environment
- Knowledge with Docker or Virtual Machines
- Strong organizational skills, rigor, and curiosity.
- Problem analysis and resolution skills, being proactive.
