About the Department & Team:
The team manages the operational process for the international reinsurance business, providing accurate and efficient data management of reinsurance accounts, with quality service levels. You will work in partnership with the underwriting function and in collaboration with the other support teams and colleagues in other locations e.g., Cologne and London.
You should be enthusiastic about working on the conception and introduction of efficient and innovative new processes. We are looking for someone with an independent and inquisitive approach, who is attracted by working in an international environment in a role that provides extensive exposure to numerous projects in our digital transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Using the underwriting system (IRIS) to enter and clear submissions.
• Prepare files used for policy construction and follow up with brokers and/or underwriters regarding outstanding questions and/or paperwork (e.g., subjectivities, underlying policies, policy information, etc.).
• Identify all required forms and materials related to policy issuance; prepare policy and endorsements (monetary & non-monetary) via Policy Document Management system (PDM) or manually; mail policy to broker.
• Handle various requests and enquiries from brokers and/or underwriters. This can relate to include premium information, loss information, policy changes, submitting request for loss control etc.
• Prepare activity logs that track steps leading up to policy issuance and perform reconciliations against reports generated from underwriting system. Interact with other departments including Finance and Compliance to resolve discrepancies and/or issues.
• Handle pre-renewal activity including preparing & sending out renewal letters.
• Perform day-to-day operational Underwriting & Accounting support in an efficient, accurate and timely manner, liaising with clients and providing financial information and advice, maintaining accounting records and preparing accounts and management information and monitoring credit control functions of Reinsurance Receivable/Payable and related Bank Accounts.
• Work collaboratively with other functional areas (Operations, Finance, Claims) and other LSM branch finance teams, supporting and developing the reporting processes and performing test to check financial information and systems.
• Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. Skills and Experience
• Ideally insurance or reinsurance industry experience in operations or finance.
• Strong organisational, analytical and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with others, adapt to change and accept challenging assignments.
• Excellent English & French communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a diverse environment and under time pressure during key periods of the year.
