Senior Solution Definition Analyst - API, Orchestration and StorageSummary of the role

Reservation is the beating heart of many Amadeus products: it handles critical steps of a trip reservation, including booking, ticketing, PNR management, etc.

Our organization (CPS-RES) drives these reservation functions for different travel content types, such as air, land and sea. We are accountable for our unique reservation platform, used both by Airlines and Distribution actors.

With the travel industry rapidly changing, RES organization is involved in key on-going and new projects at the crossroad of all the business units (e.g. New Distribution Capability, Merchandising, etc). We are also working on technical challenges, on our platform's modernization to build new modern APIs, universal to all travel content provider.

The Travel Record Management (TRM) department is responsible for API orchestration and Travel Record storage. The Smart PNR is an evolution to the PNR itself bringing value to our customers such as managing multiple NDC orders, Edifact and Light Ticketing content within the same record, building heterogeneous records, and more to come. Our orchestrator and storage will evolve both functionally and technically, maintaining backward compatibility, providing a migration path to the new record.

Purpose

Be a functional and/or technical expertise entry point in all products handled within the department for complex and cross functional/division solutions analysis/recommendation - Drive and/or participate to studies around Smart PNR and New orchestration, New content storage - Centralize and push initiatives and innovation ideas to PMs.

We are looking for a Solution Definition Manager to provide functional and technical expertise on all products within the department.

Accountabilities

Act as primary entry point in areas requiring expertise for transversal solution or escalation points:
  • Analyze and capture solution elements for large cross functional CPs, and other complex cross-organization, cross-functional solutions
  • Respond to the needs of the Central and/or Regional commercial organization in close collaboration with all Product Definition and Development teams of the division
  • Identify areas of repeat/common use and optimize the work of the department by documenting coherent, re-usable solution responses
  • Be accountable for providing information status to stakeholders on a regular and relevant basis at any stage of the engagement
  • Register and spot all the impacts on Amadeus Solutions and Products that are provided to clients and ensure that they are properly handled and solved by the accurate teams

Provide support and expertise to Product, Sales and Account teams in functional, technical recommendation for new solution including
  • Contribute and support in the preparation of RFI/P responses and other ad hoc customer requests
  • Provide recommendation for new solution in collaboration with R&D teams and coordinate input
  • Analyze needs and requirements, from customer and internal sources, and propose functional/technical solution recommendations with supporting rationale
  • Document and present solution recommendations
  • Support new business opportunity study when it comes to complex solution
  • Suggest/propose ways to improve customer satisfaction Develop

Develop, maintain and share solution analysis and expertise with the wider division
  • Define and execute the communication/training strategy within the team
  • Build and deliver Training material: tutorials, user guide, videos for internal team training
  • Define, develop and implement communication between commercial organization and R&D organization on complex solution or escalation.
  • Design the tools which will support the process, taking into account User Experience principles

Track and Measure the performance of the overall functional/technical solution determination processes and propose and implement improvements

Interfaces

R&D teams: Software development, PDA, Principal Engineers, Architects, Product Management, Project Management, Customer Solution Expertise, Quality Engineers, all R&D managers, CISO, ALT, TRD BUs

About the ideal candidate
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in Product Definition (ie. Product Development Analyst) with a good understanding of Amadeus business
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Proven Analytical and Conceptual Thinking
