Job Introduction

Serco is a partner of choice to the European Institutions and other International Organisations. For the past 30 years, we have been providing European and International Organisations a wide range of services including ICT services in support, infrastructure, operations and development as well as managing different contact centres for the key European Institutions, agencies and organisations across Europe.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Tester to join our team in Strasbourg Office.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and contribute to test strategies and planning;
  • Contribute to and apply test processes, procedures and documentation;
  • Contribute to and review technical specifications, requirements and develop test acceptance criteria and other test deliverables;
  • Perform, control and monitor testing activities on technical products;
  • Ensure proper defect management;
  • Report problems or failures leading to suggestions to improve or perfect the technical products;
  • Report progress of testing activities to several stakeholders;
  • Use/develop test tools and perform test automation activities;
  • Interact with project teams and other stakeholders in the framework of the tests organization and other activities

Successful Candidate

Education Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant education (master or equivalent) after the secondary school.

Minimum Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant IT professional experience and
  • Minimum 4 years of testing experience.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
  • International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Foundation Level certification;
  • ITIL/ITIL V3 Foundation certification;
  • Solid understanding of testing practices;
  • Good experience with different Operating Systems, with emphasis on Unix variants, RDBMS and networking concepts, containers and virtual environments;
  • Knowledge of (automated) testing tools, like qTest, TOSCA, JMeter and JIRA etc.;
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of complex high-availability IT systems and IT architectures;
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously;
  • Must be flexible, independent and self-motivated;
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance;
  • Good reporting methods;
  • Understanding of project management and support issues including managing risks issues quality and actions logs;
  • Strong cross-group collaboration abilities and client oriented (support);
  • Excellent problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting technical skills.

Security Requirements
  • SECRET EU/EU SECRET: The profile owner shall possess a Personnel Security Clearance for accessing EU Classified Information, at least for level EU SECRET. In case the person does not possess such clearance, then a fresh criminal record certificate (not older than 30 days from the signature of the Specific Contract) of the chosen candidate should be provided, together with the written proof that this security clearance process was initiated (up to level EU SECRET), and a copy of their national ID document / Passport, prior starting the work. Declaration of confidentiality and protection of the information system and of non-conflict of interest document will be signed by the selected person at latest at the starting date (preferably to be submitted together with the criminal record and the copy of national ID document).
