DESCRIPTION

In the frame of the Technical Directorate for Liquid Propulsion, the JTLE Test Engineering department is in charge of all activities related to preparation, conductance, analyses and documentation for test campaigns, covering the whole portfolio of activities from pre-development up to qualification and system campaigns.

In particular, the JTLE3 service is focused on the qualification and system test engineering area, including the support to the engine test in frame of the production support (workhorse test campaigns, support to pass-off tests, delta-qualification).

From historical heritage the team is mastering among others development campaigns at engine level, as well as system tests (e.g. A6 HFT ULPM upper stage), with large experience on the AG test area of VER/France and with DLR in LAM/Germany. The team is in charge of all activities related to test engineering for cryogenic and LOX/Methane programs such as A6 (VINCI, Vulcain 2.1, APU), Prometheus, Themis.

JTLE3 service is based in Vernon/France and Lampoldshausen/Germany; the job position is foreseen in Vernon; the role of proximity manager for the LAM team is covered internally in JTLE by the head of JTLE2. A close collaboration with JTLE1 (focus on pre-development) and JTLE2 (development and sub-system) ensures sound exchange within the complete department and provides a unique opportunity to work over all test areas within ArianeGroup, across Vernon, Lampoldshausen and Ottobrunn.

MISSION and RESPONSABILITES

The JTLE3 team leader role is strongly connected with the test engineering topics and requests large spectrum of technical experience in this field; the role is operational and focused on the running test campaign activities (preparation, realization and exploitation of test campaigns, according to running projects.

W.r.t. team management, the head of JTLE3 closely works with the head of JTLE to prepare, adapt and implement the Test Engineering department strategy; he/she coordinates together with the Ho JTLE and team focal points the different projects running to ensure smooth project resources coordination and technical achievements, and the preparation of proposal/preliminary preparation for upcoming projects.

Special focus is given for the VER-site specific topics, e.g. HR, safety, logistic, administration, as well as for the exchanges with the JT/JI and support functions directorates on site. The role includes proximity management tasks for JTLE1 team in VER.

Wr.t. technical topics, direct support for the different projects/test campaigns is considered inherent to the daily business, including support for the regular technical routines in the team. Coordination, arbitration and coherence check between the different projects in JTLE3 is requested, as well as reporting for the management routines in JTLE and towards customers (projects/programs) upon need.

Depending on the projects, several sites within AG and DLR are at stake; a multi-cultural exciting test environment is awaiting to be uses at full capacity with different peculiar skills to lead to project success. The different interfaces in France and Germany require high confidence in the English language.

PROFILE

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experiences:

• University degree in engineering, aerospace or equivalent
• Strong leadership skills as well as high social competence with experience in leading multi-functional teams
• Extensive professional experience in engineering, ideally gained in the aerospace industry; test experience with cryogenic propellants is appreciated
• Solid background in fluidic and thermomechanical fields. Basic knowledge on measurement techniques, sensors would be a plus
• Experience in test data analysis and interpretation of test results is appreciated
• High sense of responsibility and assertiveness with a customers and solution oriented way of thinking and acting
• To be open minded for changes and able to motivate people to aim for improvement
• Business fluent and negotiation level in French and English

REQUESTED COMPETENCES

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualification

• Bachelor or Master Degree of Aeronautic/Aerospace or similar
• 5-10 Years of work experience in Engineering, test related experience is a plus
• Experience in production and customer relationships, either in engineering or project fields
• Fluent in French and English. German language skills are a plus
