Entity : CPS - SSP (Search, Shopping and Pricing)
The Search, Shopping and Pricing (SSP) division develops products designed to serve multiple customer segments: providers (airlines, alliances, and railway operators), distributors (travel agencies, online travel agencies, tour operators) and new intermediaries (meta-search). The market is innovative, with a strong push from the online players (Google/ITA, Kayak, Expedia ...), competitors (Vayant, Sabre) and significant business model evolutions (NDC). The platform supporting these processes is of massive scale in infrastructure (100 000 cores computing the transactions), in operations (25 000 transactions per second), in data (350 million of fares, petabyte scale historical data sets), and in software (23 million lines of code).
To serve the main SSP goal, i.e. returning the best travel solution, the Pricing Integration & Orchestration (PIO) department interacts with Reservation, Ticketing and Pricing Engine entities. PIO comes into the picture right before the customer payment to recompute the price given at shopping time if needed, ensuring the customer pays the right price.
PIO department expertise lies in flight tickets and additional services pricing, on top of aftersales flows (Amadeus Ticket Changer, Service Changer...).
Through its contribution to several SAFe Agile Release Trains, the department plays a key role in the definition of the Airline IT and the Travel Distribution business areas through projects such as Offer Management System, Nevio and Travel Platform, among other topics shaping the future of Amadeus.
More than a third of our department members have a Scrum Master or Product Owner responsibility as part of their contribution to the different Agile teams we are working with.

Main responsibilities
Common accountabilities
- Proficient in technical knowledge to ensure team performs at a high level. Is recognized as a leader in own area and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists.
- Understands how main business drivers may impact on own area. Can assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity, improve processes, recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information.
- Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions. Leads projects or contributes to broad cross-functional projects. May contribute to planning of resources and budget.
Technical Excellence
- Master QA methodology
- For complex/cross-functional solutions, analyze, write and execute test standards and procedures
- Document, analyze root cause, and recommend corrective actions for defects
- Master QA tools, environments and test automation solutions
Functional Excellence
- Hold a proficient product domain knowledge including relevant business processes & scenarios and a proficient understanding of customer needs
- Lead customer triages/debug sessions and help the team with reproducing the problem in-house.
Drive continuous and sustainable improvement
- Participate in internal / external forums and lead department-wise discussions around QA methodology / framework / tooling evolution
- Strive to maintain very high-quality standards for Amadeus products
- Contribute to patents and technical events in the QA area
- Propose relevant KPI and ways of measuring them efficiently, for software deliverables and test/production maintenance.
- Ensure adoption and improvement of testing tools & environments: promote existing ones to avoid duplication, evaluate them and recommend improvements
- Participate to the understanding, measurement and reduction of the environmental impact of the tested applications and associated QA activities
Building relations & Knowledge sharing
- Coach, mentor & train less experienced QA Engineers, Software Development Engineers and Product Definition Analysts on quality assurance skills and professionalization
- Actively participate in the construction, maintenance, and deployment of the on-boarding of newcomers
- Provide consulting on test automation issues, testing tools, QA processes and functional test coverage
- Attend to Quality and Principal QA Engineer community events
About our ideal candidate
- Experience with Test Management Tools (eg: Octane)
- Experience with testing tools (eg: Robot framework, TTS, Postman)
- A knowledge of different programming languages, such as Python and other scripting languages
- University degree in Computer science
- ISTQB Certification
- Advanced knowledge of Gitlab
- A solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as agile, SAFE, Scrum, or Kanban, and the role of QA in each development phase
- A proficiency in various testing tools/frameworks, and techniques such as manual testing, automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, system testing, regression testing, functional testing, non-functional testing, user acceptance testing, ...
- Fluent in English
