In Digital for Airlines (Traveler Touchpoints & Experience), we support airlines in defining, developing, and operating the technology that powers the online experience of airline travelers. Our suite of platform-based digital solutions (web, mobile app, development toolkits, etc.) enables airlines to deliver a high-quality online booking and servicing experience, enhancing customer satisfaction and building loyalty. Digital is a key area of investment for Amadeus. Growth, innovation, and diversification are essential to maintaining a strong position in a dynamic market landscape. The Digital organization includes more than 800 people across multiple sites, including Nice (NCE), London (LON), Bangalore (BLR), Bhopal (BHO), and Bogotá (BOG). To better respond to evolving business needs, we work in a fully Agile environment, extended to large-scale SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) mode.

As part of our key digital portfolio, the Amadeus e-Retail Engine is a platform used for booking airline tickets online. It provides a unified interface for airlines to configure and manage services such as payment options and seat maps. The Digital Experience Suite (DES) is a comprehensive platform designed to enhance digital interactions and streamline the creation and management of digital solutions through co-development, configuration, and customization. The goal of DES is to offer an open, self-service platform that enables airlines to operate independently if they choose.

Following SAFe principles, the Digital E-Retail and RefX Industrialization train supports a community of over 100 airlines and RefX customers, sustaining and improving the performance of existing products, solutions, and custom projects.

As part of this train, the System team serves as the central hub for RefX industrialization and release processes, as well as e-Retail release, automation, monitoring, and DevOps.

System Team Mission
  • Provide DevOps tools and support for the TTX organization
  • Maintain Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) services
  • Support co-development toolchains for Amadeus and its customers
  • Deliver deployment, hosting, monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting solutions for web applications
  • Evolve operating models (e.g., Git, FinOps, SecOps) to meet emerging needs
  • Foster scalable, sustainable DevOps practices across teams

Summary of the Role

To continue delivering reliable and valuable features, we are looking for a Product Owner to join the System team based in Nice, working in a fully Agile environment using the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology.

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining stories and prioritizing the team backlog while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components. You will support and promote the DevOps model by guiding the vision for the organization and contributing to the design of tools and frameworks.

This role involves close collaboration not only with the Developer community but also with our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams and the Digital Platform train.

You will join the Software and Product Engine team (SPE), which provides technical enablers and solutions for Digital and Airline Solutions (in particular Nevio). The team focuses on DevOps tooling, automation, expertise, operability, and advanced technical solutions (e.g., through Generative AI) that shape the Amadeus Cloud Native Applications (CNA) landscape, enhance the engineering experience, and strengthen ecosystem stability.

Your Main Responsibilities

As a Product Owner, you will guide the team by shaping the future direction of the E-Retail platform, including its migration to Azure Cloud and cost optimization through FinOps, with a planned phase-out of the application by 2028. You will also define the RefX Industrialization strategy. With a broad functional and technical understanding of the various components and workflows across the organization, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders (Epic Owners, Developers, other Product Owners, Architects, Experts, Business Owners, Product Managers) to support scoping and Program Increment (PI) preparation.

Your role will include:
  • Clearly articulate the product goals and vision to ensure shared understanding
  • Create and communicate backlog items that reflect business and technical needs
  • Validate completed stories to ensure they meet acceptance criteria and deliver value
  • Manage the backlog and prioritize stories based on impact and alignment
  • Help prepare for PI Planning events and align with cross-functional teams
  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders during Program Increment Planning and gather feedback from other teams and customers

About the Ideal Candidate
  • You have experience as a Technical Product Owner and have been involved in technical coordination or project management
  • You bring practical knowledge of DevOps tools, practices, and technologies, gained through hands-on experience
  • You are familiar with Agile and Scrum methodologies; experience working within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment or similar is a plus
  • You communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and adapt your style to different audiences
  • You demonstrate active listening, can explain the rationale behind prioritization decisions, and are comfortable offering constructive feedback when needed
  • You hold a university degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience
