About DANONE ECOSYSTEM
Danone Ecosystem, initially an Impact Fund, now operates as an NGO focusing on projects for public interest in ecosystems. Since 2009, we have developed innovative business models to enhance inclusion and environmental sustainability by offering financing, support, and expertise.
Projects developed by Danone Ecosystem respond to local challenges linked to sustainable sourcing and regenerative agriculture; circular economy; and promotion of healthy drinking and eating habits at key stages of life: First 1000 days, school-aged children and Ageing Well
Danone Ecosystem has co-financed now about 100 projects with over 200M€, impacting more than 5,5Million People worldwide, empowering 73 000 people and creating more than 6000 jobs.
Over the years, the team has developed recognized expertise in inclusive business models, societal innovation, co-creation and stakeholder's engagement and management, as well as complex project management. It is now expanding projects co-financing partnerships to catalyze even more the impact, in a context where acceleration and scale up is needed on Sustainability transformation.

To help the team carry its mission, we are looking for a Senior Project Development and Coordination Manager. Your mission will be:
  1. Co-build Danone Ecosystem strategy and concrete project portfolio for Africa (especially North Africa and Nigeria)
    • Strategic roadmap with various stakeholders (NGOs, marketing, expert teams and public affairs)
    • Strategy & project portfolio : maximize Public Interests benefits to deliver positive impact (civil society and environment)
  2. Develop and co-create concrete projects cases together with Partners
    • North Africa Dairy Smallholder farmers program with major institutions and NGO partners.
    • Support project and program leaders to develop Projects
    • Build the project coalition and workshops: selection of NGOs, public entities, technical support partners and other companies
  3. Engage and influence key stakeholders
    • Develop new types of collaborations to synergize projects implementation and to develop the "Landscape" approach
    • Align & influence key stakeholders to ensure the roadmap is sponsored by relevant top managers
  4. Coordinate the Project implementation steps
  5. Develop and nourish the team network
    • Support the development of Co-financers network (Institutions, NGOs, Development Banks, etc)
    • Develop the network of potential innovative solutions (Start Up incubators, technology & digital based solutions, Smart agriculture, AI, etc).
  6. Develop your management skills
    • Animate and coach a network of internal and external project managers but also leading social organizations & institutions
    • Manage an apprentice focused on investigation of Innovation opportunities (ex. Biodiversity development levers)
  7. Contribute to transversal topics
    • Transversal topics and new type of business models on specific global challenges (ex: Inclusive recycling, Water resource protection)

Danone Ecosystem Impact strategy & tools to keep amplifying our impact in the field of Regenerative Agriculture
    • Build knowledge material and ensure its dissemination (upcoming Knowledge management platform)
    • Contribute to Danone Ecosystem communication plan to valorize the Impact reached by projects.

Examples of Danone Ecosystem projects you will coordinate:
  • Smallholder farmers development programs in Milk and Feed (forage) in Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, (other countries to come later in the project portfolio)
  • Watershed protection in above countries with Integrated water stewardship approach (Source to Sea continuum of action, priority focus in Morocco

About You

The criteria below remain indicative. A candidate who has a different combination of experience and skills could also be considered.
  • Min 6 years of relevant working experience in project management and/or consultancy in the area of Sustainability, Sourcing/Procurement, Operations,
  • Experience in NGOs and/or Agriculture and/or Food industry with experience in upstream value chain and/or operations development
  • Knowledge in Sustainability, agriculture especially Dairy value chain, and/or circular economy/ consulting experience are a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with ability to work with a wide range of multi-functional teams
  • Flexible/adaptable with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Leadership and influence skills
  • Fluent in English (French, Spanish, other languages are a plus)
  • Ability to travel across Europe on monthly basis
