Lille Economics and Management (LEM, CNRS UMR 9221) and IÉSEG School of Management invite applications for a fully funded Ph.D. positionon the "Integration of Neurodiverse Individuals in Organizations" (HRM/OB area).

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Neurodiversity, which includes conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, is integral to wellbeing in organizations as it recognizes and respects the diversity in neurological conditions. This inclusion is crucial for fostering a positive and diverse workplace culture. By acknowledging and accommodating the unique strengths and challenges of neurodivergent individuals, organizations contribute to improved mental and emotional wellbeing of individuals. Embracing neurodiversity not only reduces stigma but also unlocks unique talents, promoting innovation and creativity within the workforce. It aligns with legal and ethical considerations, ensuring equal opportunities for all employees and building empathy and understanding among colleagues. In essence, incorporating neurodiversity into wellbeing initiatives creates an environment where everyone can thrive, fostering a culture of acceptance and inclusion.

With this research project, we aim not only to gain an understanding of the barriers that prevent the integration of neurodiverse individuals in organizations but also to contribute to a better implementation of diversity measures.

The Ph.D. project at IESEG School of Management (where fostering openness to and inclusion of diversity in the workplace takes center stage) lies at the cross-section of Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior with links to Corporate Social Responsibility. It will as such be supported by a multi-disciplinary team of three professors. The selected candidate will be working under the supervision of Professors Mamta Bhatt, Johan Maes and Antonio Giangreco. The selected Ph.D. candidate will be part of the IÉSEG's People and Organization (PON) department (click here for more information).
