Airline business is going through a complete retailing transformation to address expectations customers
are now used to in retail: workflow efficiency and control, price transparency, social networks interactions, personalization, etc...

In this context, Amadeus launched Nevio program, the future of the PSS (formerly known as Next-Gen Altéa, Nevio) to deliver the true value of this
transformation. And our group, ORR-OST-OMS, is in charge of building Order Management System (OMS) which is an essential module of Nevio.

About the role

Whether you are currently Solution Definition Manager or wishing to move to this position, this job opportunity is for you!

Joining OMS, you will be working in an agile team that is designing, developing, validating, and maintaining core components of the OMS, with notably:
  • Core order system to manage orders data and life cycle, storage, fulfillment
  • Integration with NDC layer of the order suite via RTL backend
  • Interactions with other suites needed throughout the handling of our orders: offer suite, revenue accounting, payment, operations suite, etc...
  • Interactions with the PSS (a.k.a. Bimodal) to leverage all PSS capabilities for a seamless transition while offering new capabilities via OMS

The person we are looking for will first work as a contributor to gain knowledge on the area before moving progressively and as occasions allow, to a full time Solution Definition Manager position having a true background on the area.

In that preliminary period, you will have to:
  • Clarify requirements with Business Unit product management and propose solutions in line with the vision to ensure that the new developments will match both customers' expectations and product strategy
  • Ensure that features can be industrialized, easily deployed to facilitate the product deployment, and improve its maintainability.
  • Innovate by designing and documenting new features considering both industry evolution and technical evolution.
  • Document and share your knowledge to provide meaningful information to internal & external customers of the platform. Delivering quality product specifications, solution design, ensuring knowledge transfer through handovers.
  • Coordinate with relevant divisions and departments to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure functional compatibility.
  • Validate the product to ensure compliance of the delivered functionality and system integrity, and give sign off
  • Provide information to the Product Management as necessary for the elaboration of business cases and RFP responses.
  • Support customers in the production phase and contribute to the maintenance effort, ensure production integrity & security. Investigating the reported incidents and analyzing the possible solutions, ensuring clear and accurate communication with customers and applications.
  • Collaborate with your fellow team members, to benefit from their knowledge and different backgrounds, and bring your own assets to the team

Then progressively as a Solution Definition Manager, you will:

Act as primary entry point in areas requiring cross functional expertise.
  • Analyze and capture solution elements for large cross functional CPs, and other complex cross-organization, cross-functional solutions. Drive cross R&D teams assessments
  • Respond to the needs of the Central and/or Regional commercial organization in close collaboration with all Product Definition and Development teams of the division
  • Identify areas of repeat/common use and optimize the work of the department by documenting coherent, re-usable solution responses
  • Be accountable for providing information status to stakeholders on a regular and relevant basis at any stage of the engagement
  • Register and spot all the impacts on Amadeus Solutions and Products that are provided to clients and ensure that they are properly handled and solved by the accurate teams

Provide support and expertise to Product, Sales and Account teams in functional, technical recommendation for new solution including
  • Contribute and support in the preparation of RFI/P responses and other ad hoc customer requests
  • Provide recommendation for new solution in collaboration with R&D teams and coordinate input
  • Analyze needs and requirements, from customer and internal sources, and propose functional/technical solution recommendations with supporting rationale
  • Document and present solution recommendations
  • Support new business opportunity study when it comes to complex solution
  • Suggest/propose ways to improve customer satisfaction

Develop, Maintain and share solution analysis and expertise with the wider organization
  • Define and execute the communication/training strategy within the team
  • Build and deliver Training material: tutorials, user guide, videos for internal team training
  • Define, develop and implement communication between commercial organization and R&D organization on complex solution or escalation.
  • Design the tools which will support the process, considering User Experience principles
  • Track and Measure the performance of the overall functional/technical solution determination processes and propose and implement improvements

About the ideal candidate
  • Master degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role (Solution definition manager, PDA, senior PDA...)
  • Good understanding of main Technical Pre-Sales methodology and pre-requisites
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with all the stakeholders of the project as well as Amadeus clients during workshops (which may involve travel)
  • Detail-oriented and able to propose solutions.
  • The SDM must have a strategic vision of product development and be able to convey this clear vision within their team and other cross-functional teams collaborating on the project.
  • Fluent English is required, Any other language would be a plus
