About the Role:

The Head of Technology for Nokia Defense International (NDI) will be responsible for leading the mid- and long-term technology development of Nokia 5G for the defense sector.

This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking and leadership. The key objective for the role is to create a thought leadership position on how Nokia 5G technologies are adapted to meet the defense specific requirements and ensure that Nokia 5G solutions meet the rigorous demands of defense use cases.

This position will offer the right individual the opportunity to create an external thought leadership and become an industry guru of 5G for defense orchestration Nokia's contribution to the evolution of modern military communications' strategies.

NDI Head of Technology will take a pivotal role in our multi-regional team, with a significant personal contribution to the achievement of NDI's business objectives. The role reports to Head of Nokia Defense International

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support NDI's Market Creation and Business Development Team to bring NDI's 5G technology strategy into the Defense Market.
  • Identify, prioritize and align Defense customers' requirements with Nokia's technology capabilities to ensure that Nokia stays ahead of the competitive curve and becomes the 5G technology leader in Defense Market.
  • Address the critical technology challenges from the Defense Market to define and implement NDI's go-to-market strategies, through account planning and sales activity plans.
  • Provide the key MN internal decision makers with a clear understanding of the 5G end-to-end military architecture requirements and trends, both on short- and long-term network evolution perspectives. Subsequently closely work with MN business lines and services units to create a comprehensive and competitive 5G technology roadmap for the defense use cases.
  • Represent Nokia at Defense Industry meetings/conferences, sharing thought processes and influencing industry moves. Build the required relations with military industry ecosystem players, Defense analysts and technology development communities to insert Nokia in the major technology development programs, best-practices sharing exercises and though-leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • Master's degree in engineering, electronics or Information & Communications Technology.
  • 15+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in senior or executive-level technology management roles, in the mobile communications market.
  • Proven business and financial acumen behind a deep understanding of the 3GPP telecommunications market: technology, specification, standardization, product development and evolution.
  • Knowledge and experience on defense and/or national security use cases and information sensitive environments will be highly valued.
  • Proven track record of leading virtual team cross-functional teams in complex technology environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
