    CONTEXTE

As a school under the supervision of the Ministry of the Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, and a part of the Institut Mines-Télécom, IMT Nord Europe has three main missions: to train responsible engineers capable of solving the major challenges of the 21st century ; to conduct research leading to high-value-added innovations ; and to support regional development, particularly by facilitating innovation and business creation. Its objective is to train the engineers of tomorrow, mastering both digital technologies and industrial know-how.

Ideally located at the crossroads of Europe-1 hour from Paris, 30 minutes from Brussels, and 1.5 hours from London-IMT Nord Europe aims to become a major player in the great industrial, digital, and environmental transformations of the 21st century by combining engineering sciences and digital technologies in both its teaching and research.

Located on two main teaching and research sites in Lille and Douai, IMT Nord Europe relies on over 20,000 m² of laboratories to develop high-level education and research of excellence in the following fields:
    • Energy and Environment
    • Digital Systems
    • Materials and Processes

The School also has branches in Dunkirk, Valenciennes, and Alençon. For more details, consult the School's website: http://www.imt-nord-europe.fr

The position is available within the Digital Systems Teaching, Research, and Innovation Center (CERI SN) (https://recherche.imt-nord-europe.fr/systems-numeriques). In this context, IMT Nord Europe is recruiting an Assistant Professor whose missions are described below

    Missions :

The CERI is involved in all of the Engineer curricula. It is notably responsible for two of the four specialty areas of the school (Industry and Services, and Digital Sciences and Technologies) in the initial training under student status (FISE) and an apprenticeship program in Telecommunications and Computer Science. The CERI also offers a Specialized Master's degree in Cybersecurity, certified by ANSSI-SecNumEDU. Finally, the CERI also has teaching activities in continuing professional development (FTLV).

    Teaching activities:
    • Contribute to pedagogical supervision activities (training, projects, internships, tutoring, competitive exams) on the school's various campuses, according to their areas of expertise and pedagogical needs. Some courses may be taught in English.
    • Deliver teachings (courses, tutorials, practical work) within the school's different programs in their areas of expertise. The candidate will participate in the common core courses of the Engineering program as well as in the integrated preparatory cycle courses. They will also participate in specialized teachings (Master's level), particularly in networks (fundamentals, SDN, Cloud, automation, etc.) and cybersecurity. Some courses may be taught in English.
    • Contribute to the implementation of pedagogical innovations integrating digital tools (MOOCs, flipped classrooms, etc.).
    • Get involved in pedagogical supervision activities (projects, internships, competitive exams).
    • Invest and participate in the collective responsibilities related to the training.
    • Participate in the development of new modules or pathways on corporate and data center networks, in line with the evolution of technologies (virtualization, softwarization, automation).
    • Collaborate with professionals in the sector to strengthen the anchoring of teaching in current industrial and technological realities.

    Research and technology transfer activities:

The CERI Digital Systems is structured into 3 research groups.
    • ARTS (Autonomous, ResilienT Systems) aims to make distributed and constrained systems resilient and autonomous. A global vision is adopted, integrating data collection (and its communication problems), software development (and its adaptation to systems), prediction, control, and security.
    • HIDE (Human, Interaction, Data Environment) studies human-centered learning models and the interaction between humans and their environment. It is concerned with augmented environments (Factory of the Future, intelligent transport systems, etc.), assistance and management of personal autonomy (connected health, anomalies in human behavior), as well as the security of human-related data.
    • MCLEOD (Modelling and control of Complex systems in Large Environments requiring Optimized Decisions) aims for the understanding and better control of complex systems through modeling, decision-making, and control approaches from Automatics and Artificial Intelligence.

As part of this recruitment, the candidate will join the ARTS research group, contributing to strengthening the networks and cybersecurity component.

He or she will be expected to:
    • Develop a high-level research activity on the softwarization and automation of network architectures, as well as on the security of infrastructures, protocols, systems, and data.
    • Work on topics applied to programmable/virtualized networks, IoT, 5G/6G, Cloud, and critical systems (transport, industrial, cyber-physical).
    • Participate in the implementation and evolution of experimental platforms (5G, IoT), via simulation tools or physical testbeds.
    • Initiate and coordinate research projects, supervise PhD students and master's students, with a view to preparing a Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR).
    • Actively contribute to regional, national, European, or partnership projects (especially in connection with the industrial world and/or with the other IMT schools).
    • Publish in leading conferences and journals in the field, and participate in the organization of scientific events.
    • Be a committed actor in the animation of the French and international scientific community in the concerned fields.
