Senior Service Reliability Engineer
Job Description Summary

Our mission as part of Amadeus Cloud Services is to be to support the expert technical team which are supporting Azure Public Cloud transformation and Support the on Premise infrastructure using mainly Hyperconverged infrastructure solution.

The support is mainly for Amadeus internal R&D perimeter with also a capabilities to extend to Production Customer .

Your team will also build and maintain Platform running on Vmware infrastructure and any future one.

You will also Manage PaaS team which run and support Redhat OpenShift cluster

You will be facilitators to support our internal customers to migrate their workloads to Public Cloud

Your team will be located in 3 regions Europe, Americas and India.

Your mission will be to work on 2 different solutions: currently 50% on premise and 50% Azure Cloud. This will evolve over the years with more 90% with Public Cloud

First activities: Support Vmware infrastructure team

Maintain and Support the entire Vmware infrastructure across the globe / That mean 6 Datacenter representing 6000VMs and OpenshiftCluster.

You will be also responsible to put in place new solution to replace Vmware virtualization layer

Your team should maintain high availability service in order to fulfill Amadeus requirements around operability, security, automation and compliancy audit such as (ISO,isae3402).

You will also work in cooperation with the RnD SRE teams to deploy the clusters, ensuring applications can scale out from one region to another, on demand, and with the minimum cost (automated operations, tooling, licenses, etc..).

Support System Reliability Engineer will Technically design, engineer, who are maintaining, troubleshooting virtual infrastructure solutions based on the datacenter environment :Hyperconverge solution VXrail , NAS shares , Veritas NetBackup is a plus

Ensure Datacenter setup efficiency power cooling

Some activities are perform by third party company in India . You should ensure high quality of service including the contract and finance

Details:

• • Support day to day operation Vmware infrastructure
  • Operational tooling for supporting day to day Vmware Service including patching, monitoring, Incident recovery.
  • Automate and Industrialize change management.
  • Integration of Security solutions at platform level such as Zoning, Authentication, Secret Management.
  • Design and build new solution to replace Vmware
  • Cost management and optimization of the platforms
  • Datacenter Management
  • Disaster Recovery platform
  • Lead end to end Large Complex project

Second activities : Support Red Hat OpenShift PaaS team

Manage OpenShift team you should focus on service, quality, efficiency and cost optimization considering the optimal technology (technology research) and solution.

Collaborate with other OpenShift team inside Amadeus

Maintain Software Life Cycle roadmap and Cost Optimization (finops)

Identify and priorities larger scope interventions necessary to handle problems that cannot be solved immediately.

Your Common accountabilities:

• Manages a team of Staff employees and has accountability for their performance and results. Sets performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions.
• Defines a vision for the team in line with the department strategy and operational challenges and translates it into a concrete action plan.
• Works with a high level of autonomy, with some guidance from Senior Manager.

Key accountabilities

• Organize the team and help/support them ensure they can perform the best support on our migration to cloud
• Continuous improvement of team-internal processes to design, implement and provide, validate and automatically test, version and release integrated infrastructure automation and cloud integration solutions.
• Work with Agile or Safe methodology
• Presentation of solutions to management with fully documented and analysed proposals.
• In case of incidents or problems, support the operational team to diagnose and recover from the service disruptions, report comprehensive status to management.
• Participate in the evaluation of, install, support and control relevant tools used to provide infrastructure automation and cloud integration solutions.
• Interact with operational and development groups to maintain accuracy on Amadeus architectural knowledge.

Who are we looking for?

Technical Skills

You should have knowledge, skills and expertise in the following platform services:

• Infrastructure Skills : Vxrail, Vmware, NAS isilon storage , Veritas netbackup
• Public cloud Azure Skills and certification
• Technical Certification on Azure and/or VMware is a plus
• Automation concepts and tools (Github,Ansible, Jenkins terraform, infrastructure as code mindset)
• Linux skills is a plus
• Networking concepts such a Vlan, Layer 1 to 7
• Datacenter skills
• Basic knowledge on Redhat OpenShift

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to share technical expertise
• Customer Focus
• Team player
• Proficiency in English essential, both written and spoken
