Job Description

Summary

As IT network engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring, and the management of local and large-scale networks of an organization to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role may include designing system configurations, documentation and managing the installation of a new network, and maintenance and upgrade of existing systems as required.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including Firewall (Palo Alto) switches (Cisco and Meraki), DNS and DHCP
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security (Palo Alto and Prisma)
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting, working with vendors to resolve issues
  • Arranging scheduled upgrades with Change Management procedures
  • Investigating faults in the network
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology related field of study with a network engineering focus
  • Fluent English (spoken, written, read)
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
  • Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection.
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including IP, Ethernet, Cisco and Meraki Wifi, Palo Alto firewalls and Global Protect VPN client, Palo Alto Prisma, MPLS, BGP, SDWAN, SASE, Cloud IAAS ( AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience based on ITIL approach.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • At least 5 years of Operational support experience in a Cisco, Palo Alto environment (Technical certifications on Cisco, Palo Alto.)
  • Experience of working within a culturally diverse global company
  • Conversant in another European language would be advantageous
  • Experience in cloud networking architecture
