En partie à distanceWho we are ?
Télécom Paris, part of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is one of France's top 5 general engineering schools.
The mainspring of Télécom Paris is to train, imagine and undertake to design digital models, technologies and solutions for a society and economy that respect people and their environment.
We are looking for a post-doctoral student in communications, electronics and networks to work on optimizing the energy consumption of cellular communication systems in the Computer Science and Networks (INFRES) research department at Télécom Paris.
SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND
Telecommunications networks play a significant role in global energy consumption and therefore in greenhouse gas emissions. The functions and operations carried out in these networks contribute in various ways to these emissions, whether during the network use phase or during the manufacture of the equipment. The main aim of this postdoc is to assess and then optimise the contributions of the operations involved in transmitting and receiving information, both during the use phase and the manufacturing phase. The focus will be on 4G and 5G cellular networks. This postdoc is at the heart of the sustainable digital issue.
The work will be carried out as part of the Networks Mobility Services (RMS) team in the IT and Networks department, in collaboration with the Communications and Electronics department at LTCI.
The main responsibilities of the post include :
Conducting research in the field of electronics, communications and networks
Providing mentoring and tutoring services
Contributing to the reputation of the School, the Institut Mines-Télécom and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris
You have solid expertise in signal processing for digital communications, in the operation of 4G/5G networks and in programming in Matlab or Python. You have a PhD or equivalent qualification. You have a proven ability to work as part of a team and have good interpersonal and teaching skills. You have knowledge of electronic equipment and are able to write scientific papers and articles.
If you are motivated by optimising the energy consumption of cellular communication systems and would like to take on a stimulating challenge, come and join us!
Why join us?
You'll be working in a fast-growing, pleasant, green and accessible environment (especially for people with disabilities) just 20 km from Paris (RER B and C suburban train lines, close to major roads, shared shuttle departing from Porte d'Orléans). You will benefit from :
