Job Description
- Be responsible for the creation of UI art assets with top notch quality for game menus and user interfaces based on the design and directions provided by the UX/UI designer
- Implement UI art assets with gameplay programmers and designers, and follow-up on final implementation of all user interface features to ensure proper execution
- Ensure that assets quality standards are met, ensure their consistency with preexisting content and predefined standards, and coordinate design criteria with other cells
- Collaborate with other dev team cells (content design, system design, gameplay programming) to ensure optimal communication of design info and achieve the results expected by the game Directors
- Look for solutions to optimize assets quality, footprint, technical performance, and overall assets creation pipelines and workflows
- Account for technical and production constraints, and identify and manage risk & uncertainty associated with your area
- Set and share best practices in your area of expertise for design, creation, documentation, workflows, methodologies and tooling
- Constantly participate in finding solutions to fix buggy features and optimize systems, pushing for reworks when they are necessary to reach the expected quality.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English
- Strong graphic design background and artistic skills, with a superior eye for composition, colour theory, artistic sensitivity.
- Knowledge with UI graphic design tools, wire framing and prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, Figma, etc).
- Familiar with animation tools to create animated UI mockup (After Effect, Flash).
- Solid knowledge in UI/UX best practices is a strong plus
- You already shipped at least a game as a UI artist
- Significant experience working in a video game development team as a UI artist, ideally working on F2P RPG games with complex game loops (specifically MMORPG development experience is a plus)
- Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple way to players, and to use a business and user-centric approach to user interface design.
- Attention to detail, meticulous and organized working habits to ensure high quality in day-to-day work
- You are creative, flexible and open to feedback and iterations, and a good team player
- Knowledge of the universe of The Division IP (its world, stories, characters, key mechanics and game systems, etc), and a passion for believable game world grounded in reality, is a plus
- Experience with Unreal Engine is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of mobile platform development is a plus.
- Passionate about playing and making games
- In-depth knowledge of the game industry, notably of the top RPG games in the F2P & GaaS genre
- Strong understanding of the full development cycle of a game and a strong understanding of all its stages, from the conception to live phase
