Monk provides visual expertise through Computer Vision and Deep Learning algorithms. Today, our AI model is able to detect and classify damage on any type of vehicle, from photos taken on a smartphone. We are building a word-class damage detection and computer vision service. We are looking for (people) with a data-centric approach to help us build the future of vehicle damage detection.
Who we are looking for:
Monk provides visual expertise through Computer Vision and Deep Learning algorithms: today, our AI is able to detect and classify damage on any vehicle, using photos taken by a smartphone. Monk is working with international leading players, such as our parent company ACV Auctions (USA), but also CAT logistics (Europe) Getaround (France), Autobiz (Europe) or Hgreg (Canada).
We mostly work on image classification, instance and semantic segmentation but are expanding our scope to topics such as 3D reconstruction. We are looking for a strong individual contributor with rich experiences in deep learning and computer vision and solid practical coding skills, to improve our vehicle inspection products with state of the art approaches. What you will do:
- Make significant and high-quality contributions to our deep learning computer vision algorithms
- Help improve our data lifecycle, in particular our data collection and annotation processes
- Provide technical suggestions for our products and technical guidance to junior team members
- Document your progress properly
- Optionally, explore one of our new R&D domains like 3D and video (pose estimation, 3D reconstruction, SFM) or edge computing
What you will need:
- Masters in a computer-science field or related fields (data scientist, software engineer, etc)
- At least 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in related fields (data scientist, software engineer, computer vision engineer) - including the time spent pursuing a PhD in a related field (computer vision, machine learning, etc) if applicable
- Another 2 years as a senior contributor (senior or higher data scientist / engineer)
- Advanced knowledge of computer vision SOTA, including object detection and segmentation
- A strong theoretical background
- Great understanding on how to analyze results, provide action points and improvement strategies
- Ability to initiate, drive to completion and continuously improve computer vision projects
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in professional English
- Familiarity with our tech stack:
- ML: Python, Pytorch
- Databases: SQL, Postgresql, Sqlalchemy
- Versioning: Github
- Experience on collecting and annotating data to drive model improvements
- Experience with an agile methodology
- Experience with 3D, video, or edge computing for machine learning is appreciated not required
- 50/50 hybrid schedule (on-site and remote)
