Our Cloud Platform Engineering Team lies at the core of the value we offer to our customers. We solve complex problems by working not only within our squads, but also by working collaboratively with other teams across the organization. You will lead Shift's SRE and Developer Experience team, managing 14+ engineers within the Cloud Platform organization. Your focus will be on improving developer tools, compute infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, FinOps, and incident management. You'll support over 200 technical staff by delivering internal platforms and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow a high-performing team of 14 including a team leader.
  • Define roadmaps aligned with company goals and ensure quality delivery.
  • Oversee monitoring, observability, and FinOps tools and processes.
  • Maintain and scale compute infrastructure and automate deployments.
  • Lead Developer Experience initiatives like internal portals, CI/CD, and developer tooling.
  • Organize and participate in on-call rotations and L2 support to maintain 24/7 service availability.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and product teams on project planning.

Technologies We Use: GitHub, Terraform, Python, C#, Go, Ansible, Kubernetes, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Microsoft Azure, AWS, OVH, Palo Alto, Cloudflare, and more.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers, ideally including managers
  • 10+ years in SRE, DevOps, platform, or software engineering
  • Proactive, ownership-driven, and able to delegate effectively
  • Curious, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
  • Professional, confidential, and client-focused
  • Excellent people management skills including leadership, mentoring, coaching, communication

Technical Skills:
  • 5+ years running Kubernetes and cloud platforms at scale
  • Experience with internal developer portals or platform teams
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code skills
  • Experience with data structures, big data, NoSQL, and messaging systems (Kafka, Redis, etc.)
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems
  • Knowledge of security, monitoring, and cloud-native architectures
  • Programming skills in Python, C#, or Go
