Research in Nokia Standards (NSD) focuses on pioneering, exploratory research aimed at developing new products, services, and disruptive technologies that challenge traditional approaches. This includes providing deep scientific insights that lead to the pre-standardization of ideas and concepts for 6G technologies and beyond. With advancements in AI and data monetization, 6G will be the first mobile system built around data, driven by three key innovations: AI-native mobile systems that enhance traditional solutions, a data-driven design approach using past release data to shape 6G, and the ability to convert vast amounts of mobile-generated data into valuable, monetizable information.
At Nokia Standards (NSD), we drive Nokia's technology leadership by developing innovative concepts and bringing them to industry and standardization bodies. We also collaborate with ecosystems to ensure an industry environment conducive to Nokia's success. Our strategic goal is to anticipate, shape, and protect future technologies and ensure that relevant standards and specifications are developed.
