Job Description

The Global Master Data Process Owner will lead the charge in transforming finance processes and systems on a global scale. As part of our Global Finance Processes & Systems Optimization team, you'll be at the forefront of digitalizing our operations and driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies like SAP S/4 HANA, Ariba, and PowerBI. Reporting directly to the Global Finance Business Process Owner (BPO), you'll play a pivotal role in our finance transformation journey.

In this dynamic role, you'll lead the Master Data Management (MDM) business team, spearheading the global expansion of our MDM model, enriching content, and ensuring top-notch quality controls. With LDC Group's ambitious systems modernization roadmap and analytics digitization plan, you'll be instrumental in validating core master data integration across various applications (Front & Back Offices, CRM) during rollouts, replacements, migrations, and M&A initiatives. You will also model new master data references and processes, ensuring robust governance.

Collaborating closely with MDM IT (responsible for developments, configuration, and data migration operations) and MDM Shared Business Services (SBS) (in charge of master data maintenance), you will ensure the successful implementation and adoption of data standards and processes by business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Geographical extension of the Master Data model

LDC is currently rolling out worldwide Back Office project (SAP S/4) as well as several Front Offices modernization and purpose driven applications (CRM, sustainability...). The Global MDM BPO has following responsibilities:
  • Lead and motivate a team of regional MDM BPOs responsible for integrating MDM in rollout projects, driving continuous improvement activities, and setting data quality standards.
  • Understand and advocate for the MDM Core model, including data models, processes, rollout strategies, business process impacts, and integration within a complex system landscape, ensuring continuous enhancements.
  • Enhance MDM implementation strategy, with a continuous improvement and contextualized mindset. Balance between agility and compliance with LDC core model rules. Develop new strategies as needed. Validate approach for master data definition across systems and for migration activities including quality & consistency controls.
  • Resolve gaps identified during projects and continuous improvement activities by assessing their impact on the global Core model. Analyze and resolve specific local process and data requirements in collaboration with business and project teams.
  • Train and support the BPO team in understanding and presenting the MDM Core model and processes to local teams and facilitate knowledge sharing among MDM BPO team members.
  1. Data Modeling

As the key facilitator for enabling seamless communication between systems, the Global MDM BPO is responsible for managing the onboarding of new data objects. In this role, you will:
  • Collect and Validate Requirements: Gather and confirm requirements from business stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with IT: Work closely with IT to develop a data model that meets the requirements of all stakeholders.
  • Define Data Quality Rules: Establish data quality standards, design maintenance processes, and prepare comprehensive documentation in collaboration with IT and MDM SBS (Shared Business Services) teams.
  • Train and Activate: Provide training to all impacted stakeholders and oversee the activation of new processes.
  • Ensure Hypercare Support: Manage the hypercare period by offering quick solutions and support to users.
  1. Data Quality

Data quality is a critical success factor for LDC's digitalization journey, ensuring the uniqueness, consistency, completeness, and accuracy of master data shared across multiple systems and countries. In collaboration with the Data Quality Officer, business, and IT teams, the Global MDM BPO identifies relevant KPIs to track data quality and implements processes to maintain high data integrity, mitigating risks associated with poor data quality.
  • Define Framework and Governance: Establish the framework and governance for data quality management.
  • Identify and Resolve Root Causes: Identify the root causes of poor data quality and develop effective remediation solutions.
  • Enhance Analytical Tools and Reports: Improve analytical tools and reports to generate insights and address data quality issues.
  • Design Data Cleaning Strategies: Develop strategies to clean and resolve data quality issues.
  1. Continuous improvement of the Global MDM Organization

Today, a centralized Master Data Team within the SBS organization is responsible for data maintenance across all entities and systems of the group. In this context, the candidate will be responsible for:
  • Incident and Risk Analysis: Collaborate with business users and project teams to analyze master data-related incidents and risks raised to the BPO level and facilitate resolution and change delivery
  • Data Model Maintenance: Maintain data models and ensure all master data-related documentation requirements are met.
  • Enhancing User Experience: Partner with the MDM SBS Supervisor to improve user experience and drive automation initiatives for maintenance processes.

Qualifications

The candidate should have a good understanding of Master Data, appetite to interact with cross-functional & various project teams and have a strong process knowledge (best practices, key controls etc). He/She should also have a solid experience on IT projects, ideally related to Master Data processes for Accounting, Treasury, and Controlling.

5 years minimum of strong operational experience ideally mixing:
  • Master Data experience (processes, model, control framework, governance) across business applications (with strong focus on SAP) & other integration tools
  • Experience in IT projects: functional end-to-end process / organization / methodology design & deployment, project management and integration with other projects
  • Understanding of underlying system architecture, IT tools and IT implications
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other business organizations; successful experience in working with diverse groups of people in a problem-solving environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Strong ability to gather & analyze information, define problems and form an action plan.
  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders, convince, manage in non-hierarchical / project mode.
  • Evident ability to analyze and challenge workflows, being analytical and synthetic.
  • Strong organizational ability with a very strong attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of autonomy and ownership of this role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and result oriented.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (mandatory)

Education:

Leading business or engineering school equivalent. University master degree in Business Administration with major in Finance/Accounting/Controlling alternatively and / or Information Systems Management.
