Job Description

As a newly established department, the Market Innovation & Development Department is dedicated to capturing new business opportunities driven by megatrends and technological evolutions. Leveraging market intelligence, we identify emerging trends, competing materials, and strategic opportunities. The department defines, manages and implements robust business cases for innovative ideas, while fostering partnerships, ecosystems, and external relations.

As Architecture, Building & Construction Market Developer, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and capturing new business opportunities for stainless steel in the evolving sustainable building, construction and infrastructure sectors. That includes new offsite and modular construction trends, which can benefit from stainless steel's unique mechanical and durability properties. Improved aesthetic features, combined with new lightweight products of our portfolio constitute additional assets for these markets. On the top of that, such applications could benefit from Aperam's disruptive low-carbon footprint products, and synergize with the recycling assets of the group.

Your role is essential to achieve the Aperam 2030 Innovation Plan.

You will report to the Head of Market Development - Consumer Goods & Construction

Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Conducting thorough market screening and analysis to identify strategic opportunities and establish a solid market entry plan;
  • Strategic Partnerships & Client Relations: Building and nurturing relationships with key industry players, prospects, and stakeholders to establish a strong network and foster long-term collaborations;
  • Product portfolio development: Working with internal experts to ensure offerings are tailored to the needs of new markets, including regulatory, and technical adaptations;
  • Business Case Development & Implementation: Defining and managing detailed business cases for new opportunities, ensuring a clear go-to-market strategy and smooth project execution;
  • Partnerships & Alliances: identifying key stakeholders, potential partners, and clients to foster collaboration and secure new business opportunities. Developing partnerships with the support of internal experts;
  • Project Management: Overseeing projects from ideation to execution until the transfer to operational marketing, ensuring time delivery and high-quality outcomes in collaboration with cross-functional teams;
  • Sales Enablement: Equipping the sales teams with the strategies, knowledge, and tools needed to drive growth and success in your segment. Delivering marketing plan to Sales & Operational Marketing;
  • Marketing & Communication: Providing technical content for the elaboration of commercial communication and promotion. Actively participating in promotional campaigns (interviews, webinars, conferences and exhibitions).

Your ability to integrate technical expertise with business acumen will be key to your success in this position.

Qualifications

  • Educated as an engineer (materials science preferred) to be able to discuss with experts and understand the value creation for our clients;
  • You have a proven track record (minimum 10 years) in the steel, stainless steel or building & construction sectors. In your previous role, you have dealt with material choice, business development or procurement related to Building & Construction;
  • You have a good vision and understanding of main trends related to sustainable building and offsite construction trends;
  • You are dynamic and have very good interpersonal skills and strong ability to work in a transversal way;
  • You have very good analytical skills, "out of the box" mindset, strong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit;
  • You are fluent in English. You feel comfortable when communicating with diverse audiences and preparing promotional materials;
  • You are able to build both internal and external networks in a partnership mindset (transversal team works with a wide diversity of departments and international cultures within & outside Aperam).
