Release Train Engineer - CIAM - Creation Platform

Business context:

Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Organization and Business Environment

The CIAM mission is to protect the digital identity of customers (professionals/travelers), thereby ensuring the security of the Amadeus products. This entails authentication, access control, administration and fraud detection. The activities consist in designing, developing, maintaining and operating the platform around authentication, access control, administration, fraud detection and other security solutions, ensuring the utmost security of Amadeus Products.

In particular, CIAM operates as a SAFe ART (CIAM ART - Customer Identity and Access Management Agile Release Train), managing our product evolution towards a modern, standard and intelligent platform offering authentication, access controls, administration and fraud detection services. Business requests are coming from all business domain from airline, airport, hospitality, travel channel... Be it to cope with core business new standard, new businesses & innovation and Extended Amadeus integration.

This platform deals with 20 million users and sustain 20K transactions per second at peak time. Services delivered by the CIAM train are used by all product engineering divisions - including Mission Critical Applications. The level of expected stability, resiliency, efficiency and scalability is extremely high - with support team available 24/7.

Additionally, the CIAM (Customer Identity & Access Management) is a business capability of the creation platform.

In this context we are looking for a Release Train Engineer to lead the CIAM train.

Common accountabilities:

- Proficient in technical knowledge to ensure team performs at a high level. Is recognized as a leader in own area and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists.

- Understands how main business drivers may impact on own area. Can assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity, improve processes, recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information.

- Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions. Leads projects or contributes to broad cross-functional projects. May contribute to planning of resources and budget.

Specific accountabilities:

Through his/her technical/functional expertise, their network and their understanding of the business context, the Principal RTE guaranties the efficient delivery of the ART mission and the creation of a more flow of value through the ART. Among his/her responsibilities are:

Coach the agile practices
The RTE is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train and:
* Is a key change agent
* Create an environment of mutual influence, encourages personal development and support the commitment made by the train
* Listen and support people on problem identification and decision making
* Is responsible for implementing SAFE model best practices by federating & coaching train stakeholders on adopting Agile mindset
* Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
* Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering

Ensure predictability of the train, availability and transparency of the train's SAFe artifacts
* Manage and optimize the flow of value through the release train
* Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities
* Budget definition and dispatch, implementation of the lean budgeting
* Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
* Track and communicate key ART execution metrics

Facilitate Agile Release Train events
* Ensure Alignment by organizing & facilitating Program Increment Planning Events
* Facilitate System Demos and Solution Demos
* Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
* Is the master of ceremonies at train level
* Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
* Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency

Ensure Quality of delivery, and leverage customer feedback
* Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners and other stakeholders to help ensuring strategy and execution alignment
* Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
* Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings

Manage risk and dependencies

Continuous Improvement
* Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve
* Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
