Responsibilities

  • Establish strategy and staffing plan of technical animators for the project where they are required;
  • Analyze animators needs in order to streamline their tool chain from production step until runtime;
  • Conduct the technical animation strategy in accordance with the Technical Director, Animation Director and Producer of each project;
  • Manage the technical animators through the various projects where they are assigned to;
  • Define, for the most complex problems in technical animation, the most suitable solutions to apply;
  • Evaluate the risks and their implications in production and propose appropriate mitigation plans;
  • Advise daily the technical animator team on the best choice to proceed in order to reach the projects targets and to maximize the production safety;
  • Make sure the working processes are applied in a compliant way;
  • When needed, be part of the development, especially to implement the most critical features;
  • Collaborate with other team members and other development, art or production teams, whatever local or remote;
  • Make propositions to improve existing functionalities, for the sake of the final quality of the game;
  • Make sure the provided work result fit the expected quality and is delivered on time;
  • When necessary, write a technical document explaining the developed or studied system.
  • Make sure the technical animator team deliver a clean, clearly commented and structured script, in respect of the suitable conditions of performance and reliability;
  • Report to the Studio Technical Director and provide with necessary information about technical animation on the assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years in technical animation production or equivalent, with a significant part in video game industry or any other domain related to real time application;
  • Clear understanding of the programming languages, especially C++ and OOP logic;
  • Familiar with modern game engine architectures;
  • Familiar with Unreal Engine and the technical animation features within;
  • Good understanding of the code impact on performance and memory utilization;
  • Autonomous, efficient and proactive attitude;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, French and English both written and spoken.
  • Nice to have qualifications
  • Familiar with Unreal Engine 5 and Control Rig;
  • Comfortable in optimization field;
  • C++ programmer background;
  • Software Engineering skills;
  • Credited in one released game at least.

About Our Team

Founded in 2010 and later acquired by Virtuos in 2017, our Paris studio is located within the lush confines of Parc Saint-Christophe in Cergy - close to the city center of Paris and easily reachable by public transport.
