CONSTELLATION is looking for a Power & Electrical Architect to join the team in our Toulouse office.

As a Power & Electrical Architect, you will be responsible for the power and electrical distribution design of an innovative new satellite operating in VLEO. You will leverage your technical expertise and coordination skills to ensure the satellite is designed to operate in this challenging environment and contribute to the success of the mission. You will report to the Senior Systems Engineer.

Your key responsibilities and tasks:

• Lead the design and development of the power and electrical functional chains for the in-orbit demonstration mission and the full constellation, with a focus on design to cost,
• Animate co-engineering activities with key power & electrical unit suppliers and elaborate suitable unit specifications,
• Provide technical management of the subcontractors who perform detailed analyses of the proposed design,
• Provide technical management of suppliers for electrical and power components including solar arrays, batteries, power regulation units, and distribution units, supporting progress meetings, design reviews and test reviews.
• Perform relevant justification analyses such as electrical compatibility, which includes distribution sizing, bus voltage ripple, stability, output impedance, solar array/ power regulation unit compatibility, electrical allocation schematics, battery balancing, and battery performance, throughout the project life duration.
• Maintain the power budgets throughout the project life duration
• Collaborate with the satellite system engineer architect for all electrical and power matters and participate in satellite design reviews and qualification campaigns
• Establish qualification and acceptance test plans for the power and electrical chains,
• Participate in the flat sat test campaign,
• Drive the power and electrical qualification and acceptance tests and produce test reports,
• Report on progress with suppliers (written or oral) to project managers.

Skills and experience

• Minimum Masters level qualification in Aerospace Engineering or a related topic
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with electrical and power design and analysis for the space environment
• Experience with satellites in low or very low earth orbit is a strong advantage
• Experience in power or/and electrical unit development is a strong advantage
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
