The team you'll be part of

MN RAN Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and Cloud RAN). You will join the RAN R&D Unit and will enjoy our culture of innovation, openness, discipline, simplicity, accountability, and profit mindset. Your future teams are developing Nokia 3GPP mainstream radio technology products and solutions including cross-technology responsibility (Multi Radio Access Technology). Your unit's main priorities are flawless execution of System programs including Network Management & Optimization and attached services.

In MN RAN R&D, the RAN Architecture & Specification unit owns 6G, 5G/NR, 4G/LTE system and product architecture specification. We define leading edge multipurpose SW and HW solutions to serve customers looking for different RAT configurations and different product variants (e.g. AirScale based Single RAN BTS or Cloud RAN).

Our passionate and experienced team is seeking an engineer to join us to work on system architecture and specification and take a significant role in shaping end to end security solutions.

Responsibilities

What you will learn and contribute to

In this role, you are expected to:
  • Contribute to define next generation BTS product structure part of France 2030(1)program (« Networks of the future » and « France 6G ») announced by French Government.
  • Contribute to define reference architecture of the security domain for Radio Access Network (Cloud RAN, SRAN).
  • Drive feasibility studies on topics such as the security solutions for the Network Elements of multi-RAT (4G/5G/6G) RAN, the security solutions for the Base Stations in a virtualized environment (Cloud) or the additional security solutions needed to support the evolutions introduced by the Open-RAN standard.
  • Contribute to the edition of the security requirements for multi-RAT (4G/5G/6G) RAN Elements (system level specification i.e. CFAM), and review of system level test plan and customer documentation.
  • Co-operate with product management, working as lead technical expert in discussions with 4G/5G/6G Cloud RAN / SRAN customers, making technical presentations to externals and supporting customer demos on SRAN, Cloud RAN and Edge Cloud products.
  • Participate to the identification of the future evolutions of the security domain in support of the Product Management teams.
  • Make clear and critical decisions on short term and long-term, impacting product, solution design and architecture

In your daily work, you will have the opportunity to work together with our global RAN Architecture and Specification teams, R&D/software development, Product Management, and customer teams. You will have excellent visibility to the future evolution of the technology in our radio systems. More detailed planning of your role in the team will be done based on your current skillset.

Qualifications

Your skills and experience

To succeed in this exciting role, we expect you to have:
  • MSc or BSc in telecommunication, engineering, computer science or equivalent area.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in telecommunication networks product/system engineering, development, system test or network engineering.
  • Good knowledge of the security threats that apply to the mobile networks and to the Linux environment as well as of the security protocols and security related procedures: IPSec, MACSec, SSH, SFTP, HTTPS..., the PKI infrastructures, the technics for access control and for protection against attacks such as "Deny of Service", the IP protocols (IPv4 and IPv6) and Ethernet.
  • Proactive, creative, analytical as well as self-motivated and self-directed
  • Proven skills with demanding problem solving in system level.
  • Open minded and results oriented.
  • High quality attitude, also under time pressure
  • Very good interpersonal communication, teamworking and collaboration skills as well as capability to work in international multi-site environment.
  • Customer focused mindset, some customer engagement experience
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
