In the Analytics & Business Insights (ABI) team, the SBS Underwriting Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the P&C UW plan lead by coordinating the Underwriting Plan process for SBS, ensuring compliance and consistency with performance and financial metrics. The jobholder will support the renewal monitoring for SBS new and renewable business, coordinate reporting, and deliver monthly updates to senior management. Additionally, this role involves supporting performance reviews, offering valuable insights, preparing detailed reports, providing data for impactful presentations, leading market studies, and assisting with regulatory and reporting information. A key focus will be on enhancing performance assessment tools and ensuring data accuracy.

Responsibilities
UW Plan for P&C
- Support the Head of UW Planning and Forecasting in coordinating the production of the Underwriting Plan process for SCOR P&C, including data, process, tools, reporting, and timeline.
- Ensure that the P&C UW Plan complies with the Group's processes, including the Strategic Plan, High-level Plan, Reforecasting, and Syndicate's SBF and SBD deliverables, and is based on a consistent methodology across all business units (Reinsurance, MGAs, SBS, and Syndicate).
- Contribute to aligning the business planning (underwriting plan) with performance monitoring metrics (technical metrics, IFRS 17 metrics) and financial planning (operating plan).
Renewal Monitoring for SBS
- Drive the SBS monitoring process of new and renewable SBS business against plans and prior year.
- Coordinate renewal reporting, working with underwriting, pricing, and CUO teams, and deliver monthly updates/presentations to senior management.
Business steering and analytical insights
- Provide support for the quarterly performance review process on a worldwide basis for SBS.
- Offer business insights and analyses to identify deviations from the plan, trends, and performance drivers.
- Prepare and coordinate ad hoc reports requested by SBS Management (CEO, Line Heads, CUOs, Chief Commercial Officer).
- Provide data and specific information to Strategy for internal and external presentations.
- Lead market studies and benchmarking exercises to identify opportunities.
- Assist the UW functions with information required for regulators, internal procedures, marketing actions, and reporting to reinsurers/retrocessionaires.
- Develop knowledge management, simplify and encourage the access of SBS data and tools
Analytical tools and proper data
- Improve the analytical toolkit and methodologies used to assess and control SBS business performance through consistent dashboards and aggregation tools.
- Support the definition of business specifications for dashboards and tools (especially the UW Plan tool) used for SBS portfolio monitoring, ensuring they reflect business needs.
- Ensure underwriting data is fit for analysis with a focus on accuracy and process efficiency, automating wherever possible and investigating tech solutions.
Qualifications
Required experience & competencies
- 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance, ideally in the portfolio monitoring area
- Strong numeric and analytical skills are required (actuarial background is a plus)
- Superior analytical skills with strategic thinking and abilities to synthesize and present to others
- Dynamic, curious, autonomous and proactive.
- Appreciate designing new systems and following them up until they are implemented
- Great communication skills and real interpersonal skills. You have a sense of service and a strong team spirit.
